Where to write

Corrections, counter-examples and holes in a puzzle solution: [email protected]. Everything else — permissions, republication, problems with the site itself: [email protected].

Both addresses reach a human. We do not forward your message to third parties and we do not add it to any list.

What makes a message easy to act on

For a correction, these four things get it handled in one pass:

• The URL or slug of the entry, for example /p/post-hoc.
• The sentence you disagree with, quoted rather than paraphrased.
• Your reason or counter-example, with a source if you have one. "This feels wrong" is also fine — we will go looking.
• For typos and layout problems, a screenshot or a line reference is enough.

What happens to your message

Correspondence is used to reply to you and, where relevant, to revise the entry. If a correction is adopted we publish the revision date; we do not publish your name or address unless you tell us to.

Deletion requests: write to [email protected] naming the message, and we will remove the exchange within a reasonable period.

Response time

There is no ticketing system and there are no ticket numbers. Replies usually go out within two working days. If a week passes with no answer, send it again — it was missed, not ignored.
